Anyone with Type 1 diabetes can experience unexpected lows. One of the main goals of diabetes management is to achieve target HbA1c levels safely, without increasing the risk of hypoglycaemia (hypos).

Read the real-life stories of other people with Type 1 diabetes and discover how they have found their way to better control and fewer hypos.

Managing hypoglycaemia - Francois

Francois was diagnosed when he was 2 years old. The 11th of March 2007

We were blessed with a caring and very understanding Paediatric Endocrinologist, who prescribed pump therapy almost from the start. The Medtronic pump had such a positive impact on his life and within hours, the pump became part of his body. 5 Years ago, we decided to start Francois on Sensor Technology. This for us, and his teachers, was like a 24/7 caregiver! The Veo as well as the 640G has saved him from severe low blood glucose levels on numerous occasions. There have been nights where the pump would alarm to warn us that his glucose levels were dropping and we did not hear it - what a relieve to walk into his room and to find out that the pump stopped insulin and waited for his glucose level to rise before it automatically restarted again! We truly can not imagine a life without Medtronic for Francois! Francois is 9 years old absolutely loves his pump and sensor technology!
